This role will play a critical part in creating and optimizing new and existing working environments in North America, ensuring a safe and productive workspace for our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement enterprise-wide space planning and process for all non-operational office assets and locations.
- Collaborate with leaders to identify workplace solutions that enable staff to perform their best work, while maintaining key proximity principles and overall design standards.
- Project manage workplace improvement initiatives, coordinate and oversee the work of vendors, business partners, and contractors.
- Partner with key enabling functions in HR, Security, Wellness, Communications, IT, Supply Chain Management, Workplace and Real Estate, and Field teams to plan and execute on workplace initiatives.
- Provide planning, design, and execution for office-based construction and renovation projects, including project management, schedules, deliverables, budget reporting, and communications.
- Develop viable solutions to space delivery through consultation with landlords, design consultants, engineers, and contractors.
- Lead the Planning, Design, and Construction team, including design, construction, space planning staff, contractors, and service providers.
- Provide leadership to direct reports through coaching, training, objective setting, ongoing feedback, and recognition of the link between individual and organizational success.
- Develop key performance indicators and dashboards to provide data-based performance decisions to optimize cost and business results and manage Canada capital and G&A Workplace budgets.
- Assess workspace infrastructure requirements at sites and develop five-year opex and capex plans.
- Manage oversight of Workplace construction and decommissioning projects, including managing turnover and acceptance expectations, budgets, and reporting, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement change management plans for impacted team members and staff to mitigate people-related risks to ensure projects are adopted, applied, and sustained operationally.
- Accountable for safety practices through targeted initiatives, including roles and responsibilities clarification, training profile development, safety leadership capability introduction, COIMS gap assessment, HSE data health enhancement, risk register awareness, and contractor management alignment.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Business, Project Management, or equivalent Facilities-related work experience.
- PMP, CFM, FMP, LEED AP, WELL AP, or other recognized certification/membership is considered an asset.
- 12+ years' experience leading commercial construction and space planning projects, workplace operations, or closely related functions, and 10+ years' experience in leading people with a proven track record of successfully supervising, developing, and mentoring staff.
- Outstanding collaborator engagement skills that align with strategic planning and communication experience.
- Experience partnering with procurement processing for construction, design, furniture procurement suppliers, and services, including assisting in the evaluation of RFPs, tender bids.
- Detailed knowledge of building code regulations and safety codes, safety processes, and procedures.
- Good project management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects/tasks across various teams.
- Demonstrated successful change management planning and execution.
- Managed large capital and operating expense budgets.
- Able to build, steward, and plan both OPEX and Capital budgets across multiple lines of business.
