Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Century Group. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our residential facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect residents' rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces on a scheduled basis.
- Vacuum and dust furniture and floors in resident rooms and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, equipment, and beds.
- Prepare cleaning solutions and utilize cleaning supplies in accordance with established procedures and safe practices.
- Ensure furniture is arranged to provide a safe and efficient environment.
- Check and restock laundry supplies as required.
- Ensure laundry equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe and efficient manner.
- Report unsafe or faulty equipment to the Director of Care.
- Ensure health, safety, and hygiene practices/procedures are adhered to and assist in maintaining quality assurance standards.
- Maintain a current knowledge of and comply with Century Group policies and procedures.
- Comply with all WHMIS requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 10 education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Institutional certificate is an asset.
- Knowledge about the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be physically and mentally able to carry out the assigned duties with minimum supervision.
- Must possess the qualities and attitude that respects and maintains the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the residents.
- Must be able to speak and understand English competently and to understand written and oral instructions in English.
- Must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment associated with the duties required for the position.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy, and patience with residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers in the workplace.
