We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our mental health unit, you will provide high-quality patient care to adult inpatients, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric nursing and medication administration.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health needs, including those with depression, suicidal tendencies, psychosis, and severe personality disorders.
- Conduct thorough behavioral observations, mental status, and physical assessments to inform patient care.
- Monitor patient response to pharmaceutical interventions and document progress.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
- Psychiatric nursing certification in progress.
- Minimum 1 year of acute adult mental health experience.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and psychiatric nursing principles.
- Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
