Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our mental health unit, you will provide high-quality patient care to adult inpatients, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric nursing and medication administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health needs, including those with depression, suicidal tendencies, psychosis, and severe personality disorders.
  • Conduct thorough behavioral observations, mental status, and physical assessments to inform patient care.
  • Monitor patient response to pharmaceutical interventions and document progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
  • Psychiatric nursing certification in progress.
  • Minimum 1 year of acute adult mental health experience.
  • Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and psychiatric nursing principles.
  • Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
