The Counsel will assist the VP-Chief Counsel for Global Marketing & Media, collaborating with the global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams on initiatives that encompass global marketing digital transformation, creative strategies, media production, technology integration, and digital content projects. This role also involves supporting various functions across the enterprise, including global Marketing, Consumer Experience, Procurement, Mondelez Digital Services (MDS), and brand equity teams, focusing on marketing, media, brand strategies, social media, digital commerce, MarTech, Gen AI, and related areas. Additionally, the Counsel will support the Corporate & Legal Affairs Department in developing strategies and providing leadership concerning global agency agreements and brand initiatives, emphasizing risk management and mitigation, policy development, and global contract negotiation related to marketing, media, technology, data, Gen AI, and social media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel, contract support, and strategic leadership to the VP-Chief Counsel for Global Marketing and Media and global functions involved in marketing, media, technology, data, Gen AI, and social media issues.
- Collaborate with global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams, focusing on procurement and stakeholders engaged in marketing initiatives.
- Participate in the Global Marketing & Media Center of Excellence, ensuring effective service delivery related to marketing, media, technology, data, and social media.
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts, policies, and legal documents pertinent to global marketing, media, social media, Gen AI, and digital transformation.
- Manage non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements.
- Develop tools and support for executing global projects related to marketing, media, licensing, technology, data, and Gen AI.
- Curate and distribute a monthly newsletter for the Global Marketing Legal Community of Practice.
- Organize and manage team information and materials in connection with the Corporate & Legal Affairs Knowledge Management tool.
- Resolve disputes with commercial partners related to marketing and media, taking a leadership role in project management.
- Identify training needs and develop educational programs in areas such as marketing, media, technology, data, Gen AI, and social media.
- Keep stakeholders informed of significant legal developments that may impact the company's operations.
- Assist in formulating strategies and ensuring the application of global standards and policies within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials, licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Over 3 years of experience in intellectual property, marketing, and media law.
- Exceptional management skills and business acumen, capable of making informed decisions aligned with business objectives.
- Strong research, writing, and leadership abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- High level of professional integrity and ethical standards.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with non-legal audiences.
- Substantial experience in social media, marketing, media, production, and commercial transactions.
- Previous experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector is preferred.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions while managing stressful situations and deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
