Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing services to patients, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, and collaboration with other healthcare team members.
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and economic needs to identify health care goals and develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring that care is holistic, compassionate, culturally sensitive, and respectful of patients' individuality.
- Delegate care to other healthcare team members as needed, while monitoring and evaluating delegated activities.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, such as rounds, to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
- Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make decisions within your scope of practice, while acknowledging limitations and taking appropriate actions to compensate for them.
- Recognize and report situations, occurrences, problems, or concerns in a timely fashion, following appropriate communication channels.
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing education program.
- Recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area may be required or preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) required.
- Ability to work in a computerized environment and function in the MDS and Care Organizer programs.
- Ability to prioritize care for an individual resident or group of residents, respond to a variety of simultaneous demands, and maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and maintain a commitment to the Resident Bill of Rights, as well as the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
Good physical and mental health are required for this position. Moderate to heavy physical effort may be required, and good communication skills are essential.
