Mill Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mill Operator to join our team at Argo Lumber. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our mill equipment to ensure efficient and safe production of lumber products.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain mill equipment, including saws and conveyors, to ensure optimal production and quality control.
- Perform quality checks on lumber products to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Stock and maintain raw materials at each station to ensure smooth production.
- Remove finished goods from each station and ensure they are properly stored.
- Ensure equipment and tools are well-maintained and in good working order.
- Experience working in a mill or lumberyard environment.
- Basic knowledge of lumber and building products.
- Knowledge of lumber grades is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating fork lifts and saws.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous change.
- Able to work in a plant or lumber yard environment with noise, debris, and unsecured materials.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Able to wear protective equipment, including hard hats, safety boots, and safety glasses.
- Requires physical stamina to stand throughout the shift and lift moderately heavy items.
