Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will perform various duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, conducting routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

The KGH Laboratory is a 24/7 lab and progressive teaching facility with a diverse team of hundreds of members working in various disciplines. Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Grade 12
  • Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
  • One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid BC Driver's License as required

Additional Requirements
You must be able to type 25 WPM and submit a 5-minute typing test from an approved institution within the past 48 months.
