About the Role
The Assistant Store Manager - Operations Lead is a key member of the store leadership team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the store's front-end and back-end processes. This includes overseeing all non-selling activities, such as freight flow, delivery, and fulfillment, to drive productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of associates to achieve sales and margin goals while driving operational efficiencies and maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with peers on the store leadership team, District Manager, and Area support staff to assess customer needs and develop strategies to achieve service, sales, and operational objectives.
- Identify and communicate barriers to operational processes or the customer experience, and implement solutions to address these issues.
- Set clear and measurable service, sales, and operational goals for the team, and track progress on a daily basis.
- Drive execution of all service, sales, and operational programs in assigned areas by monitoring activities, providing feedback, and making adjustments as needed.
- Anticipate customer flow and work demand, and redirect efforts and schedules to ensure proper coverage when and where needed.
- Proactively address operational issues that could impact customer service levels and/or achievement of store sales goals.
- Teach and demonstrate effective use of RONA's selling and service model.
- Model behaviors that deliver exceptional customer service, maintain an in-stock position, and keep the store clean and safe for customers.
- Interview, select, develop, and provide direct leadership over a team that supports product categories in assigned areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, certification, or background in logistics or a related field.
- 5 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
- 3 years of experience leading support/operations associates in a retail or consumer service industry.
- 1 year of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes within and beyond assigned areas of responsibility.
- Experience working with store computer systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
