David Aplin Recruiting is collaborating with a prominent engineering consultancy that focuses on municipal and private sector services related to water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems. With a range of exciting projects in the pipeline, they are seeking a meticulous and committed Field Operations Specialist to become part of their team.

In the role of Field Operations Specialist, you will serve as the critical link on construction sites, ensuring that all projects are executed as intended. Your key responsibilities will encompass documenting site progress, engaging with contractors, reviewing technical drawings, and providing daily updates to the office team, complete with photographs and comprehensive reports.

This position is based out of Edmonton, with projects typically located 2-4 hours from the city. The role involves a rotation schedule of 10 days on-site followed by 4 days off. Accommodation will be arranged during your on-site work, along with per diem allowances for meals and mileage reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily site progress, including capturing images and drafting detailed reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Review technical drawings and conduct on-site evaluations to confirm compliance with project requirements.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or concerns to the office team, providing timely updates and recommendations.
  • Conduct field reviews to ensure compliance with municipal infrastructure standards.
  • Deliver daily feedback and reports to the office team, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
  • Adopt a proactive approach, identifying potential issues before they escalate.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in conducting field reviews, particularly in municipal infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in water, wastewater, and reclaimed water projects is highly desirable.
  • A background in civil engineering or an Engineering Technologist Diploma is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with First Nations projects is a plus.
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and plans.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
  • Must possess a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement will be provided.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and be present at construction sites.
