About the Role

iA Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as a Strategic Legal Director for the iA Auto sector. As a key member of our legal management team, you will play a critical role in delivering legal services that support the business objectives of this sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to the leadership and business partners in the iA Auto sector, ensuring that their legal needs are met in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Lead and/or provide support on complex legal files with varying degrees of risk, ensuring that they are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with senior management, business partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the legal services team is aligned with the sector's business objectives.
  • Stay ahead of key legal developments and regulatory trends that impact the organization's business strategies, its key stakeholders, and the industry as a whole.
  • Collaborate with other legal leaders to harmonize practices and ensure consistency in the delivery of legal services within the group.
  • Support the development of high-performing teams, providing honest and timely feedback, and promoting the career growth of team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws and member in good standing of a provincial law society/bar in Canada.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both English and French.
