About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at GN IT & Management Solutions Inc. as a permanent employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Administer Network Infrastructure
    • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal network performance.
    • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and systems.
    • Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures, and maintain control records to ensure network uptime.
  • Provide Problem-Solving Services
    • Offer technical support to network users, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Implement Network Security and Monitoring
    • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software to identify potential threats and optimize server performance.
    • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, ensuring secure and reliable access.
  • Perform Data Backups and Recovery
    • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent in a related field.
    • 1-2 years of experience in network administration and support.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
    • Experience with virtualization, Linux, Unix, and device drivers.
    • Knowledge of networking security, intranet, and internet concepts.
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
