**Job Summary**

Under the supervision of the Supervisor/Designate, this role is responsible for providing administrative, technical, and clerical support to the library function in assigned elementary schools.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the library function in assigned elementary schools.
  • Assist with the maintenance of library collections, including cataloging and classification.
  • Support the development and implementation of library programs and services.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to integrate library services into the curriculum.
  • Provide reference and research assistance to students and staff.
  • Assist with the management of library budgets and resources.

**Requirements**

  • Two-year Diploma in Library and Information Technology from a recognized college or university.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Board-provided computer-based technologies to create, manipulate, store, and retrieve information, and communicate with others.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Subject Headings (CSH), Dewey Decimal System, Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2R), Sears List of Subject Headings, and MARC bibliographic and authorities format.
