Job Title: Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst at GFL Environmental, you will play a crucial role in supporting business decision-making and process improvement within the environmental services division. You will work closely with the SVP, Operations to ensure effective allocation of resources and successful implementation of capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Extract insights from data to inform business decisions
  • Develop and maintain data-driven models to support process improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and compliance requirements related to capital investments
  • Develop and implement data quality controls and business process controls
  • Support the definition and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs)
Requirements:
  • University degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a similar discipline
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define solutions to abstract problems
  • Experience with SQL and advanced skills with MS Excel
  • Understanding of statistics and data aggregation techniques
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to rapid changes in priorities and assignments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • VBA coding skills
  • Experience with Cognos reporting
  • Knowledge of project management techniques, Agile methodology, Lean, or Six Sigma
