About the Role

Arctic Wolf is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to lead our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team. As a Manager - Managed Detection and Response (Network), you will be responsible for planning and directing all aspects of development activities within your team. This includes ensuring that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to the organization's established policies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of cybersecurity professionals responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative software solutions.
  • Provide direction, clarity, and remove obstacles to support the team's success.
  • Instill the foundations of R&D in your team by living them on a daily basis.
  • Execute the product roadmap and ensure teams are highly motivated, performing well, and delivering work on time.
  • Remove any blockers preventing teams from getting their work done.
  • Make sure each team is clear on the objectives and goals they are striving to achieve.
  • Work with team members to deliver key features and work with architects to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap.
  • Implement the R&D department and team responsibilities, oversee the full software development life cycle, and ensure teams are following ISMS regulations.
  • Develop careers of team members, including regular one-on-ones, career and personal development coaching, and execute administrative responsibilities.
  • Manage employee compensation and vacation time, manage and approve conference and training budgets, and be involved in helping set and manage the directorate-level budget.
  • Has strong financial management skills, lead recruitment efforts for their team(s), and mentor each team member to help them grow their technical and leadership skills.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network telemetry and intrusion detection systems.
  • 2+ years of management or team lead experience in a cybersecurity or network engineering role.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, network security architecture, and network monitoring tools.
  • Experience with network telemetry technologies and platforms such as NetFlow, IPFIX, Suricata, and Snort.
  • Familiarity with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools like Splunk, ELK Stack, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Competency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience leading Agile development teams, preferably with formal Agile training.
  • A clear history of technical influence (public conference talks, papers, etc).
  • A clear history of learning and skills development.
  • Professional certifications in Security are required (i.e. CISSP, GNFA, GCIH, GREM).
  • Permanently located in Canada or the U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
