Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Financial Statements: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Drafting of MD&A: Create Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports.
- Oversight of Consolidated Results: Manage consolidated financial results and legal entity accounting, including intercompany transactions.
- Complex Transaction Accounting: Handle accounting for intricate transactions and implement new accounting standards.
- Quarter-End Documentation: Prepare quarter-end working papers and collaborate with external auditors.
- Analysis of Financial Results: Conduct thorough analyses of financial results, identifying trends, variances, and financial risks or opportunities, while explaining discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures.
- Data Coordination: Work with various departments to collect necessary data for financial reporting.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure financial reports adhere to internal policies and external regulations.
- Communication of Financial Insights: Present financial insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
- Supervision of Corporate Accountant: Oversee the work of the Corporate Accountant.
- Support for Tax Filings: Assist with tax filing processes and liaise with external experts.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Candidates should have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, auditing, or accounting.
- A CPA designation.
- A relevant university degree.
- Experience in the real estate sector is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Yardi and Excel.
- A comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen, with the ability to navigate complex business scenarios.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines effectively.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with various levels of staff, including senior management and external stakeholders.
