This dedicated group of engineering professionals plays a vital role in connecting a diverse range of customers, from innovative electric vehicle charging stations to major commercial and residential projects, as well as large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

In this position, you will support the reinforcement and expansion of the electrical distribution system, catering to domestic, industrial, and commercial loads, including Independent Power Producers. Your contributions will extend to Capital Projects and Programs, alongside Operations and Maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate, analyze, and solve complex engineering challenges, contributing to the development of technical standards and design practices.
  • Conduct circuit analysis, including load flow and protection coordination studies, and design equipment settings.
  • Recommend system improvements and facilitate connections for new customers in collaboration with the Distribution Planning team.
  • Share your engineering expertise by providing guidance to engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to innovate engineering solutions that enhance safety, protect the environment, and optimize costs.
  • Validate planned Capital Projects and provide constructive feedback to the Distribution Planning team.
  • Foster effective professional relationships with colleagues and clients to prioritize tasks and address concerns.
  • Review the work of external consultants as the Owner's Engineer to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Operate independently with a focus on broadly defined objectives, seeking guidance from management on critical issues.
  • Collaborate with Project and Program teams to effectively deliver Capital Programs.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. Degrees in other engineering disciplines may be considered if relevant experience is demonstrated.
  • Registration or eligibility for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer with the appropriate governing body.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in utility distribution or a comparable field.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems up to 35kV.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present technical solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and relationship management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in addressing complex issues.
