Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Mobility Coordinator to join our team at the Town of Oakville. As a key member of our On Demand Services team, you will play a vital role in assisting customers with trip planning and reservations, handling cancellations and no-shows, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately record and confirm reservations, scheduling adjustments, cancellations, and no-shows.
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to customer requests and emergency situations.
  • Develop daily schedules and reconcile customer requests with driver/vehicle resources to optimize service efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers via radio dispatch to resolve issues and provide special instructions.
  • Process customer applications, create customer profiles, and assist with administration of customer correspondence.
  • Assist with tracking service performance metrics and producing reports as requested.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers, drivers, and the public, resolving issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum two-year College Diploma plus 1-3 years administrative or customer service experience.
  • Courses or experience in gerontology, patient/personal care, accessibility, community/social services, hospitals, or help lines would be an asset.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, active listening, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to be empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive to customers and their caregivers.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and courteously with the public in person or over the telephone, with patience, skill, and sensitivity to support people with various disabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task, apply common sense, and use good judgment, and discretion, including protecting the confidentiality of customer information.
  • Must be comfortable working in an office environment using typical office technologies, including MS Office business applications, and be open to learning new scheduling software, electric buses, and radio dispatch technology.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, possessing superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong team player, but must also work independently with minimal supervision when required.
