Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain school buses to ensure they are safe and reliable for transportation.
  • Perform road tests to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
  • Complete mechanical maintenance reports and work orders to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs to maintain the appearance of our buses.
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure our fleet is well-maintained and running efficiently.
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and keep inventory up to date to ensure we have the necessary materials on hand.
  • Monitor warranties to ensure we are taking advantage of manufacturer guarantees.
  • Issue parts release slips on work orders to facilitate the repair process.
  • Organize the workshop, including equipment and storage, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies.
  • Clean work and wash areas to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on new vehicles to ensure they are equipped with the latest technology.
  • Detect mechanical problems and take corrective action to prevent further damage.

Requirements:

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics and electric propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes.
  • PEP card (an asset).
  • Valid Canadian work permit.
