Accounting Manager

Arctic Gateway Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to support its accounting team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full cycle accounting, with the ability to review and analyze financial data; and provide daily operational support to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timelines are met
- Full cycle bookkeeping including month end/year end processes, journal entries, accounts receivable, account payable, payroll and working papers
- Ensure deadlines are met for Federal and Provincial remittances
- Manage reconciliation of bank accounts, expenses and corporate credit cards
- Support Government Grant Funding reporting and data analysis
- Review reconciliation and reporting for inventory control
- Prepare various reports that support business decisions
- Assisting in the design and implementation of improvement to accounting workflows
- Supports ad hoc projects that add value to the organization
- Secondary Accounting Diploma or equivalent experience in similar role would be considered
- 3 to 5 years experience in full cycle accounting with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and full cycle accounting
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office – preference with QBO, Dext, Approval Max or other related software
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Government Grant Funding reporting considered an asset
- Experience with using a payroll service considered an asset
