LifeLabs is actively seeking a Casual Specimen Transport Specialist to facilitate specimen delivery in the Burnaby, BC area.

As a Specimen Transport Specialist, you will serve as the LifeLabs brand representative on the road, showcasing the vital service LifeLabs offers to the community while upholding our esteemed reputation. Please be aware that all our vehicles are equipped with a Telematics system to monitor driving behavior.

Note: This position is casual with flexible shift options.

Casual team members are scheduled based on operational requirements and may work anywhere from 0 to 37.5 hours weekly, across all days of the week. Some shifts may be pre-assigned, while others will be considered 'on call' (i.e., coordinated with Scheduling on the day of). Employees are required to submit a Casual Availability Form annually and commit to providing ongoing availability that aligns with operational needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Safely deliver specimens promptly to maintain specimen integrity, ensuring a high level of professionalism, customer service, and accountability in diverse driving conditions, whether in rural or urban settings, during both daytime and evening hours.
  • Represent the LifeLabs brand with dignity and integrity, ensuring a positive experience at every interaction.
  • Utilize LifeLabs technology to access and complete online training, read communications, and manage timecards.
  • Guarantee customer satisfaction by addressing all situations with professionalism.

The ideal candidate for this position will thrive in a dynamic environment while managing physical demands such as lifting or maneuvering items weighing up to 50 pounds. Key attributes include: responsible, professional, and dependable. Additional requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A full valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Three years of driving experience with a full valid license
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to a specified route schedule
  • Flexible work hours and availability for sudden shift changes

Compensation Range:

The compensation range has been established; however, the final salary will be determined based on experience, educational qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity.
