Position Overview
MacEwan University is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Residence Life Coordinator within our Residence Life Department. This full-time position is integral to fostering a safe and engaging living environment for our residents. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Residence Life, you will be tasked with the development, administration, and promotion of residence life initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team of Resident Assistants (RAs) and Senior RAs (SRAs), ensuring adherence to established residence standards and procedures.
- Prepare and manage work schedules, including arranging coverage for shifts and making necessary adjustments as required.
- Act as a primary contact for RAs and SRAs, addressing concerns and escalating issues to the Supervisor when necessary.
- Propose enhancements to the Residence Community Standards and assist in the review of departmental documentation.
- Collaborate with fellow Residence Life Coordinators to design, implement, and assess a comprehensive wellness program for the MacEwan Residence community.
- Contribute to the development of an annual plan, including budgeting for educational, recreational, social, and cultural programming.

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive situations professionally.
- Team-building and mentoring expertise.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a diploma in a relevant field.
- At least one year of experience in Residence Services.
- Familiarity with resident and property management platforms, such as StarRez, is advantageous.
- Current certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is preferred.
- Experience in event planning is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Requirements
- A security clearance check will be conducted as a condition of employment.
- The work schedule typically follows a Monday to Friday format, with staggered shifts to ensure comprehensive operational support.
- The role includes on-call responsibilities for emergency situations outside of regular hours.
- Availability during move-in/out weekends and special events is required.
- This position is subject to an overtime averaging agreement.
