Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing projects from inception to completion. Your expertise will ensure optimal resource allocation and financial performance on all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain strict adherence to industry and company safety standards, utilizing necessary safety equipment and implementing procedures to safeguard employees and clients.
  • Support and promote Mazzei Electric's core values of Safety, Innovation, Relationships, and Trust.
  • Engage in business development activities to grow our market share in the region.
  • Develop and coordinate schedules, resources, procurement, project commissioning, project tracking, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Control costs and maximize productivity through best practices and standard processes.
  • Coordinate change management, submitting, tracking, and closing out RFIs as required.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and promptly address any concerns.
  • Participate in progress meetings as requested.
  • Collaborate with the Site Superintendent and Project Foreperson to oversee contracts and budgets.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to Project Administrators.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects through ongoing job forecasting.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses from authorities.
  • Oversee pre-construction meetings to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating to field.
  • Determine required resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish, considering budgetary limitations.
  • Collaborate with prefabrication and design departments.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for forepersons and provide coaching/counselling for employee growth and development.
  • Plan construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Estimate change orders for assigned projects when necessary.
  • Manage job closeout procedures.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for future improvement.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
  • Prepare and conduct foreperson meetings for your area.
Qualifications
  • Educational background in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in electrical project management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in electrical project management.
  • Proficiency in project administration and management tasks, including RFIs, submittals, change order management, and progress billings.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry products, practices, and standards.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize a high workload.
  • Superior IT skills, including a strong working knowledge of industry-specific software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and experience managing contracts and budgets.
