Senior Contracts Advisor Job Description

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts Advisor to join our team for a 12-month contract in Calgary, AB.

Job Summary

The Senior Contracts Advisor will be responsible for providing life cycle management of projects contracts from creation to close-out. This includes executing contracting and commercial strategies, developing contract execution plans, and managing project contracting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement best practices for sourcing activities, ensuring compliance with COIMS, Procurement Policy, and relevant regulations.
  • Develop project-specific contracting strategies and contract execution plans in support of gate reviews and project execution.
  • Provide oversight of engineering and procurement contractors in managing project contracting activities.
  • Execute pre-award activities for main project services, including developing EOI/RFI and evaluation criteria, coordinating bidder prequalification, and developing bid evaluation criteria and plans.
  • Develop and prepare negotiation plans and conduct negotiations.
  • Prepare award recommendations and route for financial and commit authority approvals.
  • Issue awards, onboard contractors, and coordinate kick-off meetings.
  • Conform contracts and route for execution by authorized personnel.
  • Prepare contracts briefs and execute post-award contracts management.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering, technical, or business discipline.
  • Master's degree in engineering, project management, or business administration is an asset.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience on projects.
  • Background in oil and gas projects.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, technical and analytical skills, and ability to adapt to a constantly changing project environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive best value and mitigate commercial/SCM risks.
