Family School Liaison Counselor Position

Palliser School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family School Liaison Counselor to join our team. As a champion for student wellbeing, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to students and families in need.

About the Role:
  • Provide direct counseling intervention to children and their families, promoting emotional stability and academic success.
  • Develop and deliver preventative and educational programming to students, parents, and school staff, fostering a culture of resilience and support.
  • Offer crisis management and risk assessment services to students, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
About the Team:

You will be working in partnership with school staff and interagency partners to provide a comprehensive support system for students and families, promoting a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in counseling or a related field, with a strong understanding of child development and educational psychology.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the Palliser Policy-Governance model and fostering collaborative working relationships, promoting a culture of trust and respect.
  • Ability to manage professional learning time and be a self-starter, taking initiative and demonstrating a growth mindset.
