Paving Foreman Job Description

MatrixHR is currently recruiting a Paving Foreman for a client of ours. This position is responsible for the supervision of assigned crew(s) and equipment, ensuring that performed work meets the specifications outlined by the assigned jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Work at Assigned Jobsite: Conduct daily field inspections and identify work and personnel issues.
  • Verify Material Delivery: Check delivery of materials to verify bills of lading accuracy and notify supervisor of material delivery discrepancies.
  • Maintain Records and Reporting Systems: Ensure all records and reporting systems for the jobsite are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensure Uniformity and Compliance: Responsible for ensuring uniformity and compliance with contract specifics.
  • Review and Complete Documentation: Review, complete, and correct all required documentation, including daily time sheets, tailgate meetings, and incident reporting.
  • Communicate with Team Members: Ensure every team member is aware of their duties, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Stay Informed: Be aware and inform employees of any changes in company policies and government legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; with extensive experience in related construction activities.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience within the road construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Paving.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes, and industry requirements; valid Class 5 Operator's License; with clean Driver's Abstract.
