About Take a Hike Foundation
Take a Hike Foundation is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing early intervention and prevention mental health support in partnership with public school districts in British Columbia. Founded in 2000, our mission is to empower vulnerable youth to overcome mental health challenges and achieve their full potential.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Individual Giving and Philanthropy to join our Development Team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to advance our mission and secure major gifts from individual donors, donor-advised funds, estates, and family foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to achieve annual and long-term fundraising goals.
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, donor-advised funds, estates, and family foundations to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts.
- Collaborate with our Foundation teams to coordinate strategies and develop tailored proposals for assigned prospects.
- Participate in and occasionally lead cultivation events to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and guidance to our Development Team to elevate our individual giving program and achieve best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in major gifts and planned giving fundraising, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts from individual donors, donor-advised funds, estates, and family foundations.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor psychology, and relationship-building strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- CFRE certification or equivalent experience preferred.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary range: $91,500 - $130,000, commensurate with experience.
