Job Overview

As a pivotal member of the leadership team, this role reports directly to the Program Director or Senior Manager and is responsible for guiding operational excellence within interdisciplinary teams. The focus is on delivering high-quality care to patients and their families while ensuring the effective management of services within designated sub-units of a comprehensive clinical program. This position collaborates closely with a Physician Leader to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and mentor interdisciplinary teams, including Clinical Nurse Leaders and Unit Supervisors, to ensure a patient-centered approach to care.
  2. Partner with the Physician Operations Leader to strategize and oversee the delivery of efficient care within assigned areas, aligning with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  3. Engage with other leaders to spearhead process improvements, utilizing quality improvement tools and risk management strategies.
  4. Foster partnerships with community and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective care delivery.
  5. Maintain open lines of communication among team members to keep everyone informed of changes affecting service delivery.
  6. Act as a liaison between clinical units and corporate support systems to identify needs and implement solutions.
  7. Collaborate with physician partners to develop and monitor operational and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  8. Design and implement recruitment and retention strategies in partnership with Human Resources to meet staffing needs.
  9. Facilitate comprehensive orientation programs for new staff to ensure adherence to clinical practices and hospital policies.
  10. Evaluate staffing patterns and schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care needs.
  11. Participate in leadership activities, including collective bargaining and service delivery proposals.
  12. Create an environment that promotes interdisciplinary learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in a relevant health profession, along with a minimum of five years of middle management experience in a healthcare setting, is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, resource management, and systems thinking skills.
