Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
  • Oversee plant operations and manage assets effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Act as the primary representative for the company during audits by regulatory officials.
  • Serve as the liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies, as well as community organizations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on process optimization, environmental health and safety (EH&S) performance, cost reduction, personnel development, budgeting, and capital projects.
Additional Duties Include:
  • Guarantee adherence to all federal, provincial, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Manage the implementation and upkeep of all EH&S programs and ensure compliance with certifications.
  • Maintain manufacturing processes, packaging, and inventory of raw materials and finished products within established guidelines while meeting customer service expectations.
  • Develop and execute plant manufacturing expense and capital budgets.
  • Introduce new process technologies at the facility.
  • Implement quality assurance programs, including ISO registration and maintenance, as well as improvement plans and standardized best practices in quality control.
  • Oversee the annual objective setting and performance appraisal process, focusing on personnel development and training.
  • Support the creation of a manufacturing strategic plan that aligns with commercial growth objectives from a production perspective.
  • Maintain site assets and optimize the lifecycle of equipment.
  • Promote continuous improvement and standardization in safety, productivity, cost reduction, employee satisfaction, and quality.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically within the chemical sector.
  • Strong skills in communication, leadership, personnel development, and decision-making.
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in Canada.
