About the Role

Rio Tinto is seeking a highly motivated and safety-oriented individual to join our team as an Operator/Maintainer in the Load & Haul division of Mine Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including haul trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  3. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to identify and implement process improvements and safety enhancements.
  4. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless operations and address any safety concerns.
  5. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  1. Valid Class 5 driver's license; other classes will be considered an asset.
  2. High school diploma or GED equivalent; or relevant post-secondary training (Heavy Equipment Operator Course) or sufficient years of demonstrated relevant experience.
  3. Previous experience with heavy equipment or in an industrial environment will be considered an asset.
