Job Summary
Alight is seeking a highly skilled Workers Compensation Case Manager to join our team. As a Workers Compensation Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing WSIB claims and facilitating return to work for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workplace injury claims, minimizing time-loss and claim costs through early intervention and proactive coordination of services.
- Ensure regular and open lines of communication with all stakeholders, including workers, clients, partner vendors, and provincial boards.
- Liaise with provincial Workers' Compensation Boards to ensure timely and appropriate decisions are made regarding entitlement-related matters.
- Review claim files and proactively manage return to work efforts, identifying obstacles to successful and rapid return to work.
- Interpret provincial workers' compensation legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure decisions are made in accordance with such.
- Identify appeal issues and draft letters of objection.
- Coordinate case management activities, including monitoring return to work and rehabilitation strategies.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in workers' compensation claims management, either in-house at a private company or in a third-party consulting capacity, with corresponding knowledge of workers' compensation statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Strong level of oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education, preferably in a related field, or a human resources and/or health and safety and/or insurance certificate-designation.
- Paralegal license.
