About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Animator to join our team at Epic Games, working on the Fortnite project. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for leading a team of animators, mentoring and driving the style and feel of Fortnite's animation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of animators, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality animation delivery.
  • Develop and implement animation concepts from initial idea to final implementation in Unreal Engine.
  • Create character-specific animations in Maya using our in-house rigs and tools.
  • Collaborate with individual Epic Art Leads and artists to ensure seamless communication and delivery.
  • Ensure animation assets are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for animation-related issues.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with Maya and gameplay systems.
  • Excellent understanding of animation principles and techniques.
  • Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline.
  • Related skills, such as modeling, skinning, rigging.
  • Experience working with mocap data.
  • Experience shipping at least one title.
