Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Work Control Team Leader.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, responsible for the effective oversight and management of maintenance and system operations, including daily tasks and outage activities stemming from Work Management processes. Lead the creation and execution of the assigned Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), addressing any scheduling conflicts that may arise. As the WBS owner, ensure control over work scope, organization, execution, and resource allocation for all planned activities.
  • Strategically plan, organize, and monitor all preparatory and ongoing requirements of the work schedule. Ensure commitment from all involved work groups to complete scheduled tasks efficiently. Uphold public and worker safety standards during schedule preparation and execution. Stay informed about operational changes and assess their impacts on the schedule. Proactively identify emerging issues and integrate necessary projects into the schedule.
  • Directly manage and resolve any coordination challenges between groups or departments. Provide guidance to all work groups, including contractors, during meetings related to the assigned WBS. Monitor work progress against the schedule and implement corrective actions as needed. Identify essential resources to ensure timely completion of tasks and conduct meetings to align work groups with the schedule and conditions of work.
  • Lead daily status meetings to control and update the work plan/schedule. Approve any new work proposals and direct the resolution of issues by involving the appropriate work groups. Ensure all necessary preparations, including permit applications and pre-job assessments, are completed before work begins. Communicate any changes in schedule or priorities effectively to relevant teams.
  • Monitor the progress of all tasks to ensure completion as scheduled. Maintain awareness of job statuses and provide regular updates to management.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to analyze significant events, accomplishments, challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Engage actively in the Corrective Action and Self-Assessment processes, ensuring timely resolution of assigned action items and supporting the development of the Corrective Action Plan.
  • Develop detailed, resource-loaded schedules for respective WBS using appropriate scheduling tools and software.
  • Identify planned changes in system states that may require approval processes. Document and control scope changes for respective WBS and ensure the inclusion of mandatory discovery work following scope freeze.
  • Optimize equipment availability and reliability by balancing online and outage activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for online and outage activities, identifying necessary risk management actions, including those related to nuclear safety, generation, reactivity, and radiological concerns.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A solid understanding of control, mechanical, or civil technology, including foundational knowledge in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, electrical theory, instrumentation, mechanics, nuclear theory, and mathematics, is essential for effective planning and coordination of work activities. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required for effective communication. This knowledge is typically acquired through the completion of secondary education and further concentrated study in a relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • Practical experience in a multi-unit nuclear facility is necessary to gain familiarity with systems, equipment, components, and processes related to energy maintenance and production. Knowledge of operating policies, safety procedures, and health standards is crucial for optimizing resource performance. In-depth experience is required to effectively manage and coordinate work processes, understanding intergroup dynamics and challenges. Strong project management and communication skills are essential, along with experience in a leadership role overseeing daily and outage maintenance activities. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience is typically required.
