Pharmacy Operations Manager

As a Pharmacy Operations Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and health care services in your community. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the operations of the pharmacy, including providing consultation to customers and healthcare providers, dispensing medication, and maintaining the dispensary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and provide a welcoming experience.
  • Practice within federal and provincial regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed.
  • Provide counselling on prescriptions, over-the-counter, and behind-the-counter products, and practice to full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services.
  • Communicate with other healthcare professionals within the circle of care to provide customer care and maintain all records required in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policy.
  • Control access to the dispensary with respect to inventory and patient confidentiality, review and maintain workflow queues, and oversee current stock levels and medication orders from wholesalers.
  • Ensure all requirements for documentation and control of substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations are met and reporting to Health Canada and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
  • Independent thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to make decisions when dealing with issues or problems.
  • Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example, and support enterprise programs.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience formulating and executing action plans, and strong personal computing skills and knowledge of pharmacy systems.
  • Must be a licensed member in good standing Part A by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
