The shíshálh Nation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Events Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Wellness Center, you will play a vital role in planning and executing events and programs that promote the health and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination
    • Coordinate event management activities, resources, and information, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
    • Plan, facilitate, and provide onsite coordination for community events, including venue selection, menu approval, entertainment coordination, and cultural protocol observation.
    • Coordinate planning for specified programs, such as the Summer Fun Program, including location scouting, facilitator booking, and activity coordination.
  • Communication and Promotion
    • Plan and coordinate event and program communication, including advertising and information content for social media platforms and newsletters.
  • Record Keeping and Administration
    • Ensure all electronic files and records are catalogued by year to provide up-to-date reference materials.
  • Community Engagement
    • Act as the main point of contact for all events and specified programs.
    • Plan, facilitate, and coordinate evidence-based wellness-related, prevention, education workshops, programs, and/or presentations for youth, families, and/or the community using appropriate resources and technology.
    • Work/liaise with the wellness team, education, health, and social development departments by way of developing, delivering, and evaluating culturally relevant wellness promotion and education programs, services, events, and activities for shíshálh Nation community members.
  • Professional Development
    • Demonstrate behaviors, actions, and attitudes consistent with the Nation's vision, mission, and values.
    • Maintain and present a positive and professional image at all times.
    • Provide opportunities to enhance and develop positive cultural identities of the children, families, and communities served.
