Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team at Juravinski Hospital. As a Heavy Duty Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all hard floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
- Collect and remove garbage from drop points to a garbage bin or compactor.
- Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites.
- Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or other extension equipment to reach.
- Wash walls, ceilings, and dust ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans.
- Use pile lifting equipment to restore certain types of carpet.
- Shampoo broadloom and use extracting equipment to clean broadloom.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning/housekeeping experience is required.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to use cleaning equipment (ie. I-mop, vacuum).
- Physically able to carry out duties of the position.
