Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer who holds a valid Ontario Refrigeration B Certificate or higher, or a 3rd Class Engineer certification. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing setting, demonstrating expertise in various systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Operations: Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning tasks as assigned. Oversee the operation and upkeep of all refrigeration systems within the facility and on the rooftop.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the maintenance of all equipment located in boiler and refrigeration rooms, as well as all refrigeration apparatus throughout the plant.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment to adhere to TSSA Standards.
  • Collaboration: Engage in plant equipment repairs and installations, interfacing with necessary departments for compliance and legal requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of safe management, operations, and maintenance to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Efficiency Improvement: Contribute to enhancing plant efficiency by reporting on equipment operating conditions and assisting in the development of a maintenance program.
  • Troubleshooting: Address any mechanical breakdowns affecting production to minimize disruptions in manufacturing.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with various departments to foster a productive team environment and promote continuous improvement in plant processes.
  • Safety Standards: Uphold a safe and clean work environment, ensuring operations comply with TSSA regulations.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Fulfill all requirements related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities, with a self-motivated approach and effective communication skills. Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is advantageous.
