Senior Underwriting Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriting Consultant to join our team at People Corporation. As a key member of our group benefits team, you will play a critical role in delivering tailored solutions and service excellence to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the group insurance markets, funding alternatives, networks, and benefit plan options.
- Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and execute pre- and post-renewal strategies, ensuring the financial requirements of our clients are met.
- Provide ongoing analytical support, including financial reporting, utilization analysis, and market benchmarking reviews.
- Monitor and report on clients' cost/utilization patterns, identifying cost drivers, trends, and areas of risk.
- Review and negotiate renewal rating proposals with carriers, ensuring seamless renewal cycles.
- Support the preparation of marketing specifications, review carrier proposals, and provide cost comparisons.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with carriers and vendors, driving collective benefits for our clients.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in group benefits underwriting, consulting, or actuarial consulting.
- Proven experience working on large group benefits accounts with complex needs.
- Post-secondary education in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of group insurance products and plan designs.
- Solid understanding of funding arrangements and pricing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and leverage relationships, both internally and externally with clients.
- Self-motivated, highly driven, and a team player with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
