The Perioperative Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing individualized patient care in the operating room environment. As a key member of the healthcare team, the LPN is responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity of care for patients throughout their surgical experience, from preoperative to postoperative phases.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to plan and organize patient care, focusing on individualized needs and priorities.
  • Apply clinical skills and knowledge to meet the unique needs of each patient, adhering to ORNAC and ANBLPN standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved school for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Current registration with the N.B. Association of Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Minimum 1 year recent operating room experience or successful completion of an approved Operating Room Technician course.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.
  • Ability to work between Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Operating room and Oromocto Public Hospital Operating room.
