The IBI Group Mobility's Digital, Road Design, and CAD division is on the lookout for a BIM Coordinator to enhance its expanding team. This role does not entail direct reports but involves facilitating the BIM production team while collaborating with various discipline groups within the Mobility sector. Furthermore, the coordinator will integrate into a national network of office-focused BIM leaders under the guidance of a BIM Manager, overseen by the Canada Mobility BIM Lead. This position is integral to a broader mission aimed at fostering cross-sector synergy, enabling global work-sharing, standardization, and optimization, as well as promoting cross-sector collaboration and data utilization throughout a project's lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tasks, including the production, review, and management of project drawings and documentation.
  • Conduct model evaluations to ensure compliance with IBI Group and project standards, aligning with the project's BIM objectives.
  • Guarantee that projects have a clearly defined BIM Execution Plan and advocate for its implementation throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Oversee the monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancement of model performance.
  • Provide leadership support to the BIM Team for both design and production phases.
  • Maintain oversight on coordination and troubleshooting, serving as a subject matter expert on BIM-related issues while upholding best practices.
  • Ensure consistent communication with the Canada Mobility BIM Lead to facilitate effective bi-directional communication between staff and the region.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a BIM technology support role within the A/E sector, including production and coordination.
  • At least five years of experience with Civil 3D.
  • Ability to work autonomously, particularly in a remote setting.
  • Experience collaborating closely with other BIM coordinators across Canada.
  • Proficiency in 3D design and multi-discipline coordination, managing models, and facilitating data exchange.
  • Strong communication skills essential for a team-oriented work environment and for educating others on BIM best practices.
  • Exceptional team leadership skills to guide a BIM team through design and production processes.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills necessary for fast-paced projects.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to embrace new challenges.
  • Capability to engage with external stakeholders (clients, owners, agencies) to interpret and understand desired BIM or CAD delivery requirements.
