As a key member of our Business Management Office, you will be responsible for leading equipment and supply standardization initiatives, providing leadership and direction for clinical operations, and ensuring standardization at C+W is in alignment with accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead equipment and supply standardization initiatives by applying change management principles to develop engagement strategies and action plans to maximize success of equipment and supply standardization.
- Provide leadership and direction for the management, utilization, risk management, and quality improvement for clinical operations for all equipment and supply standardization related initiatives.
- Ensure equipment and supply standardization at C+W is in alignment with accreditation requirements. Lead standardization and industry benchmarking actions to respond to recommendations arising from accreditation surveys, and to address new accreditation requirements, issue identification and prioritization.
- Represent C&W on a formal basis, by negotiating and facilitating consensus with major vendor organizations and clinical stakeholders for standardized equipment and to ensure maximum leverage of relationships in support of the strategic goals, clinical requirements and standardization of equipment and supplies.
- Facilitate new product evaluation and integration into clinical practice by acting as a liaison between vendor representatives, hospital leadership and clinical staff. Monitor and support the implementation process by delivering instructions to staff and reporting changes to affected committees.
- Assess the impact of new equipment on staff in various departments including nursing and allied health staff by assessing medical devices' ease of use, efficiency, and whether a safer environment is created for patients through more accurate, consistent, and accessible records. Manage feedback from hospital staff.
- Develop strategic standardization priorities and coordinates operational planning and implementation with PHSA Supply Chain and all C&W clinical teams and working groups. Monitor and support the implementation process by delivering instructions to staff and reports changes to affected committees.
- Chair and support various committees such as the Infusion Pumps Operations Committee, and the Equipment Standardization Committee. Lead hospital cost savings related to supplies and equipment through involvement with the Product Evaluation and Standardization Committee. Participate in various meetings as required.
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as nursing, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy plus a minimum of six (6) years recent related experience working with medication safety system technology and/or equipment and supply standardization or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Experience with data quality work.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing data that drives clinical outcomes and quality.
- Demonstrated ability and comfort with data and information to staff groups for the purposes of evidence-based practice improvement.
- Ability to utilize communication, change management, and leadership skills to work collaboratively with team members and person from various constituencies in the accomplishment of required tasks.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
