Client Accounting Specialist - BT Advantage Division

Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a dedicated Client Accounting Specialist to enhance our BT Advantage team. Our professionals are equipped to navigate the complexities of the evolving business and financial reporting landscape, utilizing advanced technology to deliver comprehensive services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and payroll administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute full cycle accounting services using cloud-based applications like QuickBooks Online or Xero.
  • Support payroll processing tasks.
  • Prepare basic T4 submissions.
  • Conduct month-end closing procedures, including bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring accurate journal entries.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, including sales tax and payroll submissions.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial and management reports.
  • Engage with clients regularly to address their daily accounting inquiries.
  • Identify issues and collaborate with management on solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of practical accounting experience, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; enrollment in the CPA program is advantageous.
  • 1-2 years of experience with relevant computerized and cloud-based financial accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Xero, and QuickBooks Online at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Understanding of ASPE regulations.
  • Familiarity with HST compliance.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
