Overview
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is dedicated to enhancing revenue, adoption, and growth across a diverse range of clients, from small and mid-market accounts to large enterprise customers, including those in the public sector.

The Role
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect team collaborates with clients to design and implement highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. AWS Solutions Architects work closely with AWS Sales and various AWS teams to tackle customer business challenges and expedite the adoption of AWS services.

As a trusted advocate for our clients, Solutions Architects guide organizations in understanding best practices for advanced cloud-based solutions and offer strategic advice on migrating existing workloads to the cloud. Your efforts will contribute to successful business outcomes for a wide array of enterprise customers through your enthusiasm for educating, training, designing, and constructing cloud solutions.

In the capacity of a Generative AI Solution Architect, you will leverage machine learning and Generative AI tools, including Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon Code Whisperer, to design, promote, and implement cutting-edge solutions for unprecedented challenges. Your role will drive successful business outcomes across various customers through your commitment to education, training, design, and development of cloud-hosted Generative AI solutions.

You will be responsible for designing and developing industry-specific Generative AI solutions that involve extensive data processing and modeling. This includes defining requirements, creating solution designs, implementing code according to specifications, and providing support for deployed solutions utilized by our industry clients. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute strategies that foster deep adoption and widespread use of AWS among your customers, mobilizing resources within AWS and collaborating with our extensive partner network.

Travel Requirements
Travel is primarily regional, with expectations of 15-20%.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure successful design, construction, and migration of applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
  2. Engage directly with customers to comprehend their business challenges and assist them in implementing their machine learning ecosystems.
  3. Educate clients on the value proposition of AWS and demonstrate the potential of cloud solutions.
  4. Participate in in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to create exceptional solutions built on AWS, ensuring they are optimized for successful cloud deployment.
  5. Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications, including whitepapers, workshops, demonstrations, and proof of concepts.
  6. Establish strong relationships with senior technical personnel within client organizations to empower them as cloud advocates.
  7. Capture and disseminate best practices within the AWS solutions architect community.
Basic Qualifications
  1. 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
  2. 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
  3. 10+ years of experience in IT development or implementation/consulting within the software or Internet industries.
  4. Proficiency in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of experience in technology/software sales.
  2. Experience engaging with end-user or developer communities.
  3. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  4. Familiarity with AWS machine learning technologies.

The base salary for this position ranges from $126,000/year to $210,400/year, based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive compensation package, alongside a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
