Acero Engineering Inc. is a dynamic organization in the oil and gas facilities sector, dedicated to delivering comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management solutions. We are currently on the lookout for a skilled and driven individual to join our team as a Project Engineering Specialist.

Our firm specializes in facility and pipeline engineering, as well as procurement and construction management services, guiding projects from initial concept to successful plant operation. Our primary offerings include in-house project management, process engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory compliance, and construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and updating project timelines, engineering man-hour projections, and budget forecasts.
  • Soliciting vendor details, preparing and distributing requests for quotations (RFQs), assessing proposals, and recommending purchase decisions.
  • Supporting the creation and evaluation of scope documents, reports, design basis memoranda (DBMs), project execution plans (PEPs), and project initiation materials.
  • Compiling and/or overseeing the preparation of construction work packages, ensuring all necessary components are included.
  • Interpreting regulatory standards and their impact on Acero's design processes.
  • Gaining familiarity with piping systems and various equipment specifications.
  • Engaging in hazard and operability studies (HAZOPS) and managing preparation and closure activities.
  • Participating in squad checks to ensure project integrity.
  • Maintaining effective communication with team members and stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring all changes are properly communicated.
  • Managing workload priorities and balancing multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Project Engineer with robust technical skills.
  • At least 4 years of experience in an EPCM environment working on oil and gas facility projects in Western Canada.
  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with completion of relevant courses, and registration as a professional engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Alberta.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines as required by client demands.
