About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and caring professional to join our team as a Mental Health Therapist. Reporting to the Manager, this role will work independently as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing evidence-informed and best practices in assessment, treatment, interventions, support, and follow-up to individuals registered to the Opioid Dependency Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, provisional diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up to an addiction and mental health population, specifically dealing with concurrent issues associated with Opioid Use Disorder and trauma.
- Develop and facilitate individual and group programming to provide unique opportunities for clients accessing the ODP.
- Collaborate with addiction medicine physicians, psychiatrists, community agencies, and external medical and social service providers to coordinate optimal client care delivery and provide informed referrals for recovery-orientated interventions.
- Ensure practice and documentation is in line with the Community Protection and Opioid Stewardship Standards and current best practices.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, with education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy.
- Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with addiction and mental health populations.
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to provide appropriate referrals.
