Job Overview: As a Specialty Operator, you will play a critical role in our team, performing a variety of tasks while working outside in variable conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely Operate Heavy Equipment: You will be responsible for safely and skillfully operating a variety of heavy mobile equipment, including dozers, loaders, and track hoes, to excavate, grade, and move material.
  • Pre and Post Trip Inspections: You will be required to complete pre and post trip inspections as necessary to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You will be responsible for minor truck and equipment maintenance to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.
  • Understanding Grades and Slopes: You will need to understand grades and slopes in relation to the job to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Excavating and Backfilling: You will be responsible for excavating and backfilling as required to complete the job.
  • Clean Up Sites: You will be responsible for cleaning up sites to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Labour Work: You may be required to perform occasional labour work to support the team.
  • Compliance with Safe Working Procedures: You will be required to comply with safe working procedures and practices at all times.
  • Flexible Work Schedule: You will be required to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekend, and out-of-town work as required during the construction season.
  • Other Duties: You may be required to perform other duties as necessary to support the team and complete the job.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to local candidates who possess a Class 5 license and have experience working with heavy equipment.
