Job Summary

The Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations, producing high-quality images, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations according to prescribed standards and protocols.
  • Produce high-quality images and reports as required.
  • Utilize protective safeguards and safety rules within the MR environment.
  • Document all relevant information in the Radiology Information System.
  • Uphold all policies and procedures of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in MRI.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in MRI safety.
  • Effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • I.V. Certification and experience administering contrast media.
  • Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of HIS, RIS, and PACS.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Scheduling experience, including prioritizing and triaging of requests.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of routine quality control procedures specific to MRI.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including lifting over 60 lbs. and constant standing and/or walking.
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Current BCLS Certification.
  • Demonstrated regular/punctual attendance.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety.
  • Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French).
