Bakery Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Quesnel Bakery Ltd. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing dough for various baked goods, operating machinery, and ensuring the quality of our products meets our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare dough: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, according to recipes or special customer orders.
- Bake mixed dough and batters: Bake mixed dough and batters to produce a variety of baked goods.
- Prepare special orders: Prepare special orders for customers, including custom cakes and pastries.
- Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff: Supervise and train baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure they are meeting our quality standards.
- Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods: Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to meet our high standards of presentation.
- Ensure quality: Ensure that the quality of our products meets our established standards.
- Operate machinery: Operate machinery, including mixers and ovens, to produce baked goods.
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Work setting: Bake shop, large volume bakery, or café.
- Tasks: Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye co-ordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
- Supervision: Supervise 3-4 people.
- Food specialties: Breads and rolls, desserts and pastries, donuts and muffins.
- Security and safety: Criminal record check.
- Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, physically demanding, and standing for extended periods.
