Position Overview:
The Electrician II plays a crucial role in supporting the installation of new machinery, proactively maintaining systems to avert downtime, and ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Key responsibilities encompass diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures, upholding a secure work environment, and collaborating with various departments to optimize plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical and mechanical assistance across all facility departments.
- Support the installation of new equipment within the facility.
- Implement proactive maintenance strategies to identify and resolve issues before they lead to downtime.
- Ensure that all equipment operates in compliance with GMP standards.
- Diagnose and rectify any mechanical or electrical failures in the production process to minimize manufacturing losses.
- Prevent premature equipment failures through ongoing preventative maintenance practices.
- Maintain a safe working environment by effectively managing equipment maintenance and ensuring compliance with electrical codes.
- Educate all employees on their specific responsibilities regarding food safety, legality, and quality.
- Comprehend the electrical systems associated with processing and packaging equipment and maintain them accordingly.
- Utilize the SAP system for work documentation, parts management, and time confirmation.
- Collaborate with all departments to foster a productive team environment and drive continuous improvement in plant processes.
- Assist in the procurement of electrical components and manage the inventory of essential electrical parts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid electrical license or proof of licensure from any province.
- Certification in Programmable Logic Control is an asset.
- Preferred qualifications include a Certificate of Qualification from the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Industrial Electrician 442A or Construction and Maintenance Electrician 309A.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and dexterity with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify solutions promptly.
- Familiarity with PLC programming (AB/Siemens), data collection, and troubleshooting.
