Position Overview

The Construction Field Technician plays a crucial role in supporting engineering projects by ensuring that specifications and designs are accurately implemented on-site.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the formulation of engineering specifications and technical drawings.
  • Engage in field surveys, inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Prepare detailed construction specifications, cost estimates, and material requirements.
  • Develop engineering designs and technical drawings.
  • Create and manage project timelines.
  • Oversee or conduct field surveys, inspections, and testing of construction materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for supervising a team of 3-4 individuals.

Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-paced work setting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy loads.
