Production Manager

At The Engineering Institute of Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for supervising and improving the production process within our Accessories Division.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise manufacturing processes to ensure quality work is done in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify and implement projects to improve existing manufacturing capability, yields, and capacity.
- Analyze production processes and make recommendations for improvement, managing operating costs and driving reductions and optimizations where possible.
- Design and implement improvements for Design for Manufacturability (DFMA) and communicate effectively with the design team.
- Review and improve fixtures and jigs used in production, proposing new equipment to increase automation.
- Establish safety procedures and protocols that prioritize worker well-being and minimize the carbon footprint.
- Participate in problem-solving and goal-setting activities, providing assistance and expertise to identify root causes and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure Operations services and facilities are available to maintenance personnel and outside consultants, engaging with them to drive work efficiency.
- Create programs for the CNC Router using CAM Works and support the CNC Router Personnel.
- Work with shop floor personnel to determine best practices and procedures, analyze and document current processes.
- Manufacturing/Production Engineering Degree or Certified Engineering Technologist.
- 3+ years' experience in process, production, or industrial engineering.
- Proficiency in process design, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative engineered solutions.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
- A proven track record designing in SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and computer skills.
- Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines, with exceptional organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of ERP software packages is an asset.
- Familiarity with the manufacturing/trucking industry is an asset.
- Strong work ethic and customer-caring attitude.
- Able to contribute openly and effectively during team meetings.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Dedicated to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
